Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) announced the election of Robert L. Huffines to the company’s board of directors. He joins the board after the company’s 2024 Annual Meeting of Stockholders as an independent director and will serve on the board’s Finance and Technology Committee.

Currently Huffines serves as global chairman of investment banking at J.P. Morgan Chase. Huffines has served at J.P. Morgan Chace for over 30 years, guiding the company on strategy, mergers and acquisitions. He expects to retire from J.P. Morgan Chase early this year assuming his role at Walgreens Boots Alliance.

As WBA continues to grow and evolve its business strategy, Huffines brings experience across many healthcare verticals, mergers and acquisitions so that the company can become a leading independent partner of choice in healthcare services.

Huffines currently serves on the board of directors of Nextech Invest and Eikon Therapeutics.
